DARK ARTS EXHIBITION
.
Sharin Fischer is a ceramic artist based in Northeast Pennsylvania who earned her degree in art with a focus on ceramics from Keystone College. Working with clay is both a lifelong passion and a sense of calling, a path that continues to shape her life and creative practice.

She is drawn to the transformation at the heart of ceramics: the process of turning a soft, malleable ball of possibility into a solid, lasting form. Working from her home studio, she finds meaning in the hands-on relationship between artist and material, allowing each piece to take shape through patient attention and exploration.

Beyond her own practice, Fischer shares her love of ceramics by teaching children and adults at Abington Art Studio in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Through teaching, she helps others recognize the potential in clay and discover possibilities within themselves.

A MOMENT OBSERVED . Join us at Globe Gallery on F A MOMENT OBSERVED
.
Join us at Globe Gallery on Friday, November 6, from 6–9 PM for the opening of our November Plein Air Painting Exhibition, featuring four artists and a selection of their studio-finished pieces.

Painting outdoors asks an artist to be fully present, responding to a world that won’t hold its pose. The shifting light becomes part of the work, preserving not only how a place looked, but how it felt to be there. These paintings invite us to pause and notice what we might otherwise pass by.

A special feature of this exhibition is a retrospective tracing one artist’s painting career, which began nearly 47 years ago, an opportunity to see how a lifetime of looking shapes the work.

Spend the evening with us and experience familiar places through another person’s eyes.

Brandon Smith is a glass artist and metal worker from Factoryville, Pennsylvania. His work
often utilizes natural forms and iconography inspired by the landscape and environment he
grew up in. Some of these works give body to allegory, some offer aspects of time and
change, while others simply highlight the beauty within smaller, darker moments of life.
We had such a wonderful time with Nella from Magne We had such a wonderful time with Nella from Magnetic Essence on Wednesday night at the gallery for a sound bath and guided meditation. The warm, intimate setting offered space to settle in as she guided us into a peaceful state through sound and vibration.

Thank you to everyone who took time for themselves and joined us to simply relax and be present. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Our next sound healing experience is Saturday morning on November 7, and Nella will return for another sound bath in December. We can't wait!

Taryn Faust makes acrylic paintings in which she attempts to represent her inner world with physical forms and colors. Her work is meant to show how the body and soul feel, not how they appear. When she starts painting, she has an idea for a body in a certain position and color palette, everything else she decides in the moment as the image comes together. Each painting is a learning process for her where she discovers something new.

DARK ARTS EXHIBITION

Matthew Ulrich is a largely self-taught artist whose early art education included studying with Scott Graber and Robert Chappel at Wilson High School in Reading, Pennsylvania. He continued to develop his style through experimentation and instinct, creating without the constraints of traditional artistic rules.

His work explores the darker, more surreal sides of the human experience. Distorted figures, faces, hands, and creatures intertwine with layered bodies in complex compositions that move between the recognizable and the unsettling. Bold colors and dramatic contrasts give his paintings a sense of movement, while deep shadows and expressive brushwork heighten their emotional intensity.

Ulrich is drawn to themes of struggle and identity, exploring fear, connection, and the complexity of the human mind. Rather than beginning with a fixed idea, he allows each painting to develop organically, following the imagery that emerges as he works. His compositions invite viewers to look deeper, discovering new faces, figures, and meanings within the chaos.

For Ulrich, art is less about following a formula and more about discovering what lies beneath the surface.
